I just bought among the above in 16 ga of course. I believe it"s the exact same gun as a Savage 520,except because that a flavor safety. The barrel is a 28 inch, the choke isn"t marked. It has minor wear only and also seemed prefer a pretty gun until I tried to pack it. When you load the newspaper the shell retaining finger or what ever they are called do not organize the covering in the newspaper tube. What are those components called and also how hard are they to install, It have to be a nice standard pump pistol I"d love come use.

Before replacing parts, even if girlfriend can discover them, I"d completely strip and clean the gun and also relube. If the shell avoid is very dirty it may not expand to retain the covering in the magazine.

The shell is stopped by the flavor on the bottom that the bolt not the covering stop. This provides the shell look choose it"s not being held when it in reality is.

Glad you gained your gun working and also are happy. The Stevens 520 is an exciting gun that was design by john M. Browning. Many were offered by Sears and also Montgomery Ward but marked with their house brands (Ranger and Western Field). You stated that the choke wasn"t marked. I have one with an asterisk (*) ~ above the barrel beside the receiver the measures full choke. This provides me come suspect several of those firearms were significant using the Browning throttle designation: * for full, ** because that modified, etc. Over there is a conversation on the Stevens 520 here: http://www.lennythewonderdog.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=15773&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

I simply picked up a wards model 30 in (gasp) 12 gauge...but not to worry, it was for the sole function of cutting it down to do a riot gun...something that I would not dream that on mine 16 gauge versions. To the point, if I had actually it torn down I decide to take part measurements and also compare it against the 16G. That is pretty clear to see why this are hefty guns, the receiver and many the the internals appear to it is in the same; the main differences that I witnessed were the extractors were relocated inward to grasp the smaller case head and the magazine pipe follower and also corresponding hole dimension were a tad smaller. I guess the good news is that a lot of the 12G parts may be interchangeable.
