Hello,My 2005 Nissan Altima has a poor crankshaft place sensor. I freshly replaced the camshaft position sensor, and also my elennythewonderdog.netamine engine light was still on. A mechanic shown that mine crankshaft position sensor also needed replacing. Ns didn"t desire to salary $230 though because that a $30 part!I"ve scoured the net for indict on how to replace this part. They are all elennythewonderdog.netact until I get to the sensor itself. Unlike the camshaft sensor, the wiring harness does NOT have actually a plastic clip it is registered it to the sensor, and it is certainly not environment-friendly either. The is actually a an elennythewonderdog.nettremely easy come remove metal clip the surrounds the harness. You push on it favor a spring and also the clip removes. (Sorry because that my description, I"m not mechanically inclined). Suffice it come say, my wiring harness come off much much easier than defined in the instructions, as soon as I realized my harness connected differently.Unfortunately, while the wire harness chin was basic to remove, ns am unable to acquire at the 10mm bolt connecting the CPS to the transmission. Ns don"t have enough room to affilennythewonderdog.net a 10mm socket. Around an customs away indigenous the bolt is a big plastic cap of some sort, around 3.5" in diameter that has actually two wire casings coming out of it. I apologize that my descriptions suck... I can"t gain a picture of it. Does anyone understand what I"m talking about? What I require to know is, deserve to I take it this plastic "cap" thing off? ns don"t know what that is, and I don"t know what it does. I just know it"s the one thing staying clear of me indigenous gaining access to the bolt securing mine crankshaft position sensor. I am so close yet still so far away! Please, i really don"t desire to pay a mechanic $230 for something ns really think I deserve to do myself. Thanks!
